①中古世界的“大宗贸易”以海上贸易为主。因为就古代欧洲的交通条件而言,运载大宗商品的交通工具多依靠海船。陆路和河路则因道路废弛、战争、关卡和盗匪劫掠影响,大宗贸易只是局部存在。
②对于北欧贸易区的成型问题国内鲜见专门性成果。近年来沈汉教授曾对世界市场的形成脉络有过讨论,他在文中指出世界市场(及各地区间的联系)并不是从地理大发现开始的,欧洲旧大陆先是形成了地中海市场和北海-波罗的海市场,这两个市场联系起来以后才形成统一的欧洲市场。详见:沈汉.论世界市场的形成[J].贵州社会科学,2008(6):111-118.
③部分学者对此时欧洲的高增长率持怀疑态度,认为对高增长率持乐观态度的学者普遍忽视了1086-1688年间的通货膨胀和农民生存成本的提高,也没有虑及非自由农的可支配剩余产品等问题。但就整个中世纪欧洲的物质积累而言,递增趋势是显而易见的。
④14、15世纪里北欧的主要贸易商是德意志汉萨商人,他们拥有着相较复杂的运营模式、组织制度和工具技术,任何一个方面都可作为独立课题展开,但本文暂不作详细讨论。
⑤零售权是中世纪商人行会的特许权之一,在中世纪前期有维护城市商业秩序的功能。但随着商品经济发展,这种零售垄断权愈加不利于城市商业的扩展。外商与本地商人围绕于此的争夺有助于打破行会对城市商业的限制,导向良性竞争。但集权君主制建立后,商人行会的零售垄断权被君权所打破,零售自由成为国内市场统一的重要标志,而限制外商零售则转变为重商主义的一个特殊层面。
